Fix System Email Template for "Download Digital Goods"#2247

We have found that the System Email Template titled “Download Digital Goods” is actually NOT JUST sent upon purchase of Digital Download products - BUT INSTEAD serves a DUAL PURPOSE and is ALSO sent out upon purchase of Membership type products.

The email content itself is “dynamically” generated (ie: it will show specific text and a “Download” button when it is sent out after a digital download product has been purchased - and it will show other text and an “Access” button when it is sent out after a membership product has been purchased….) HOWEVER, we do not currently have access to edit the content of the “membership” version - we ONLY have access to edit the “download” version of this email template.

Plus - as this is ONE single email - dynamically generated to serve two purposes - there is only ONE Subject line. Currently the Default “Subject Line” says “Download Ordered Files”. SO - any user that plans on selling both digital download products and membership products will need to change that Subject line immediately to something more “generic” that can span both uses of this email.

My request is to change this into 2 separate email templates - so that both are viewable and editable and can have two separate subject lines. This would result in MUCH LESS CONFUSION.

If these two CANNOT be separated into two different emails - then at least I would like to request a NAME CHANGE for this email template so that it more accurately reflects the dynamic/dual purpose nature of the template. (ie: Change from the template name of “Download Digital Goods” to something like “Digital Product/Membership Access” or similar)

Also - Let’s make the Default “Subject line” for this email something that again, is broad enough to cover both purposes - ie: Get Access Now or “Access Your Content” or similar. (instead of the default being “Download Ordered Files” - which makes no sense if the email is sent upon purchase of a membership/course product…)

It just feels frustrating to know that an email is serving two purposes - but we only can view and edit ONE.

Thank you!
